2014 In Review

2014. I would have to say this year has been one of the most defining years of my life, yet.
I am humbled by the fact that I have such a loving and caring Savior, who is always by my side, in the good and bad times.

As I look back at the year, and try to put it into words, one thing sticks out:

 God provides.

This year especially, I have been reminded of God's perfect provision in every way. He really does provide. In Job 1:21 it says,

"... The LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD."

This year, this verse has been really true in my life. He has taken friends out of my life, brought new ones in. Closed doors, but opened new ones. He has provided.

As I look back on the year, there are a few things that really stuck out to me, as the highlights of my year. Here's just a few. :)

- Going to camp without family, for the first time.
This summer, I had the amazing opportunity to go to a family camp, with some friends of mine, with no family. This was the first time I have ever been away from all family, with no form of contact. But, it was probably one of the most amazing and fun experiences I've ever had!! I smile at the thought of going down to the lake every day, or playing board games, or listening to the wonderful messages during chapel. Those are memories that I will cherish forever. :)

-Making my first CD.
This year especially, I have been pursuing music much more. In October, I had the opportunity of making a piano music CD. What a blessing that was!! I am so amazed at how music can be such a wonderful tool to share Jesus' love.

-Singing in a choir.
Singing is a big part of my life, and I was so blessed by the opportunity to be able to sing in the Melodia Homeschool Choir, at the beginning of this year. Each person in that group was so much fun to work with, and going to practice every Tuesday, is probably one of my most fond memories of this year.

-The birth of my cousin, Blayden.
In April, my sweet baby cousin, Blayden was born. When he was born, he had some issues with his oxygen saturation levels, but after some time spent in the hospital, he was released, and is now one of the happiest babies I know! He is such a great reminder of God's greatness, and love towards us.

-Becoming a part of Delight.
( if you don't know what Delight is, I would encourage you to check out my last post, and also check out their website here: www.delightandbe.com )
Delight has been such a blessing to me. I became a part of Delight towards the end of April, and I was have been so blessed by each individual in there. The girls are so encouraging, and fun, and their love for the Lord just RADIATES through them. I have been SO blessed to be able to be a part of Delight, and meet and be friends with such amazing young women.

Well, I think that is it, but I'm sure I've missed a few.

I want to personally thank all of my friends and family for making this year as amazing as it was! You all have made my year, one of the best years of my life. I am so grateful to the Lord, for putting each of you into my life.

What are some of the highlights of your year?? I'd love to know! :)
Have a Happy New Year, and may your 2015 be filled with the Lord's goodness!

Blessings!!
~Abigail.

p.s Delight reached it's goal of becoming a non-profit!! We are all so thankful and blown away by God's great provision! We are so thankful for every person who donated. THANK YOU! :)

Delight and Be

Hello everyone!
It's been a little while since I've written, but I am SO excited about today's post! :)

This past 9 months, I have been involved in a lovely group of 460 girls, called Delight.
Delight is a group of ladies, ages 13-21, pursuing Jesus Christ, and the creative arts.
So, photography or graphic design, music or theatre, dance or culinary arts, painting or interior design. It is a place to share our God given talents. It's a place to post your music videos, share your latest photography session, write down your dreams, share your heart, your prayer requests, etc..

                                                         Holly Kerchner, age 20.

I personally have been SO blessed by the girls in Delight, and I have made so many amazing friends. The best part? These girls LOVE Jesus SO much. I mean, really. You can't get much better then these lovely girls.
                                                            Kristi Blackwell, age 15.

Erin Kass, ( one of our leaders ) worded it SO well.
"Delight is ‘home’. It’s the place where creative girls, ages 13-21 can experience the unconditional love of their Heavenly Daddy. Being a teenager isn’t easy and it can be especially difficult when you’re a ‘creative weirdo’ that doesn’t fit the mold. But in Delight, ‘weird’ is the norm. Creatives are free to be who God created them to be: unique, quirky, silly, and fun daughters of the King.
It’s a community where girls encourage one another to go farther in their relationships with God. It’s a safe place to share dreams and goals and to be cheered on by fellow young Christian creative women who are in the same stages of life. The relationships that have formed through retreats and our online FB group are supernaturally incredible." ( You can check out her full blog post here: http://readytobreathe.com/2014/12/01/for-future-generations-delight-and-be/ )

                                                                Allie Rittle, age 18.

Now, this is where I need YOUR help. We are trying to raise 10,000$ by DECEMBER 31ST, so Delight can become a non-profit.
God has already RICHLY blessed us with 70% of that!! But, we still have a little ways to go!
Mallen Roberts, age 15.

If you would like to donate, you can donate here: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/delight-ministry-non-profit-campaign/x/7826337#home
Even if it's just 10$. Every penny helps!! If you can't donate, PLEASE pray!! Pray that God would provide ALL of the funds! :)
If you want to, SHARE THIS!!

Anyway, thank you so much for reading! If you have any questions about Delight, please don't hesitate to ask!! :)
Have a lovely day!

"I don't deserve this!!"

"That's not fair! I deserve more then this!!" "I don't deserve this!!"

How many times have you said that in your life time?
Too many times to count? That's ok. We all do it.

Sometimes in our life, God gives us trials and tribulations, and we may say things like,
"What have I done to deserve this?" or "I don't deserve this!!"

Now, let's talk about some of the amazing things God has done for us.
1. He created everything.
2. He loves us unconditionally.
3. He gave his ONLY son to die for us.
4. He has given us the gift us Salvation.
5. He has given us the opportunity of a life in heaven, and all we have to do is accept him.

God has done a lot more things than I have mentioned, but those are just a few things.
God has done ALL OF THAT, and yet still. Every day, people reject him. People curse him, hate him, and here we are complaining about what we do/don't deserve.

You want to know what we deserve? An eternity in Hell.
But, because of God's grace, and undying love for us, he chose to die on our behalf.
WHAT A GREAT GOD WE SERVE.

So, with that being said, I challenge you, next time you are complaining about what you do/don't deserve, think about what you deserve. Think about what God deserves, but he doesn't even get anywhere close to what he deserves!

I hope you all have a lovely week, and this post was a good reminder of what a great God we serve.

Blessings!
~Abigail

Autumn Gifts

"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows."
 James // 1:17

We can truly see His gifts during every season. Autumn is one of my favorites! The perfect blessings from our Father can be noted even in the small things - leaves transforming into beautiful shades, chilly breezes that redden your cheeks, wonderful scarves and cosy sweaters to wear, cinnamon-scented anything.

Even when there is overwhelming hardship, we may find eternal comfort in our Savior. He reminds us of His presence throughout every trial. The marvelous and fiery shades of fall? The warm smell of firewood? Just imagine, God created those just for our enjoyment! How incredibly blessed we are, let's not forget.

I thought I'd share an autumn playlist. These songs will always remind me of my favorite season.

Life Update/Summer Recap

Hello lovely ladies!
Today, I decided just to sit down and give a quick little life update/summer recap. :)

So much has been going on this summer, and I haven't really had much time to post, but I'm hoping to get better about that this school year!

Anyway, like I said, SO much has gone on this summer. Like:

I got a fairly drastic haircut in June.
I went to a church family camp, where I got to be with old friends for a whole week in July! :)

( side note: One of the girls I who was there, is a photographer, and she did a photoshoot with me while I was there. You can check that out right here: http://annaroseblog.blogspot.com/2014/07/abigail-rose-portraits_20.html )

I went to my church family camp, and got to bring my best friend, and some other good friends of ours got to come, too! :)

I also got to go to a camp with some family, and extended family/close friends. :)

In between all the fun camping trips, I got to spend lots of time with friends and family, just enjoying summer. :)
I also got to see our very own, Naomi, and meet her sweet cousin Rachelle ( http://belovedbluebird.blogspot.com/ )

So, that's pretty much my summer in a nutshell! Hope you enjoyed hearing about it, and looking at pictures. :)
What did you do this summer? Any special memories that stick out?
